Last updated: September 8, 2026

01

Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Granic (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use granic.app and related services (the “Services”).

We are responsible for decisions about how your personal information is processed. If you have questions or concerns, contact us at hello@granic.app.

02

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • account details, such as your name, email address, username, password, and profile image;
  • study information you choose to add, such as classes, deadlines, task types, descriptions, and sharing preferences; and
  • information you send when you join our waitlist, request support, provide feedback, or otherwise contact us.

We also collect limited technical and usage information automatically, including IP address, browser and device details, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, and timestamps. This helps us run, secure, and understand use of the Services.

03

Information from sign-in providers

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive the profile information that Google makes available to us for authentication, such as your name, email address, and profile image. We use it to create and manage your Granic account. Google's handling of your information is governed by its own privacy policy.

04

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • create, authenticate, and manage your account;
  • provide, personalise, maintain, and improve the Services;
  • respond to your questions, requests, and feedback;
  • protect the Services, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot issues;
  • understand aggregate use of the Services; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We process information where necessary to provide the Services, comply with law, protect legitimate interests such as security and improvement, or where you have given consent.

05

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Services working, remember session and preference information, and measure site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, although blocking them may affect some features.

We use PostHog for product analytics, including page views, selected interactions, and session replays to understand how people use Granic. Form inputs are masked in replays. PostHog processes data under its own privacy terms.

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect forms from automated submissions. Cloudflare processes limited technical signals to distinguish people from bots. Read the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

06

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with service providers that help us operate the Services, such as authentication, hosting, database, analytics, and support providers. They may only use the information as instructed by us or as required to provide their services.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights, safety, and security, enforce our terms, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

07

International transfers

We are based in Australia, and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we take appropriate steps to protect information transferred internationally in accordance with applicable law.

08

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it where reasonably practicable. Backup copies may be retained for a limited period before deletion.

09

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10

Children and young people

The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal information, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. Some rights are subject to legal limits and exceptions.

To exercise a privacy right, email hello@granic.app with the subject “Privacy request”. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity before acting on your request. You may also manage some account information through the Services.

12

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a Do Not Track setting. Because there is no consistent industry standard for recognising and responding to those signals, we do not currently respond to them.

13

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.

14
